Bio ~
Rita Warren is the president and
principal consultant of
ZiaContent, Inc., a consultancy specializing in content
management. A veteran of the software and Internet industries, Rita has more
than 10 years experience designing and implementing multimedia, Web, and database
publishing systems. In the last several years, she has focused specifically
on content management. Working closely with industry expert Bob Boiko, Rita
served as technical editor of the Content Management Bible (2001
Hungry Minds). She has been involved with major content and management
projects for companies such as Microsoft, Macromedia, Motorola, Office
Depot, and BellSouth.

- ZiaContent, Inc. (Nov. 2001-Present)
Independent consultant and service provider specializing in content
and content management. Actively involved in the content management
industry and continually seeking new opportunities to share my expertise
and experience. Key projects have included: Starbucks, Microsoft,
and Office Depot.
- Go-To-Market Strategies, Inc. (Mar. 2000- Aug
2001)
Co-founded this boutique marketing firm along with three colleagues.
Served as vice president of product development. Served primary consultant on client projects that involved writing, editing, and
developing strategic marketing plans.
- Chase Bobko, Inc. (Aug 1995-Feb 2001)
As Director of Product Development, played a key role in developing
the company's content management methodology. Prior to that,
as Director of Information Architecture, led a
team of up to10 information architects. As senior consultant in the
organization, took the lead on numerous client projects related to content
development, Web application design, and content management.
- Giordano Kearfott Design (Sept. 1994-July
1995)
Coordinated content and graphic design for a variety of multimedia
development projects.
- Microsoft Corporation (Sept. 1990-Aug. 1994)
Gained front-line experience with Microsoft customers and partners as
both an inbound and outbound representative on the Inside Sales team.
Developed a solid background in software technology that helped form the
basis for career in technical communications and content management.
~ Qualifications ~
- Masters of Business Administration (1988)
American Graduate School of International Management
Curriculum focused on international marketing and languages. Served as
creative director on the first-place team in the "InterAd" program, a
competition judged by national advertising agency executives.
- Bachelors Degree in Romance Languages (1985)
University of Arizona
Majored in French and Spanish with a minor in Business. In addition to
studies, served as an officer in a number of academic organizations,
belonged to Tri-Delta sorority, was a member of the yearbook staff, and a
top distance runner on the university's track and cross-country teams.
- Certificate in Technical Writing and Editing
(1995)
University of Washington Dept of Technical Communication
Courses included writing, editing, project management, usability
testing, and print production.
